I had found this tatting pattern a few years ago and had completely forgotten about it, until I found it again some time ago. It uses a clothing button to make the lace. I bet it looks beautiful on a Christmas tree. The design was created by Wanda, from the website Wanda's Knotty Thoughts:

Can I give you an advice? Use buttons with large holes. I struggled to pull the thread through the hole in the button that I had used.
When I have time, I wanna try other variations of these ornaments. They are all beautiful
